When we chanced across the random sky
the icy beast & I
neither here nor there no shibboleth
to pass through by
no algorithm leitmotifed our flux
droopy panthers slunk among us
as letters before their ink was dry
read them quick my ear was told
or these creatures beside you now unread
will eat all up in one big gulp
inhale you whole via their black hole
carbon these felines in
or the night of them
must blot you out
when evenings’ route
wends her colossal silhouette
& blind rain grows from a wild liquored kitten
tip-tapping upon your slicked-down head
departed atomic singularities & unremembered
non-existence
